RCC 23 Instructions

The rules for RCC have changed for the month of April.

Instead of each person making their own track and uploading it, we have instead prepared a looping backing track (thanks bongmeup and ekchuan) which we ask each participant to use.
Download the loop as a wave file or mp3 file.
The loop is 32 bars long, 110 bpm and based around f minor.
Since the backing track will be mixed in with your mix down, please do not alter the timing of the backing track at all

Tip: in your chosen sequencer, set up a new song, set the tempo of the song to 110bpm, and import the backing track - it will line up perfectly.

Your task is to play over one repetition of the loop, you should leave the last 2 bars relatively free of music so that it will loop nicely.
Mix down your track without the backing track and upload it as either mp3 or wav to ftp.midiwarez.net port 21, login: rcc password: rcc in the april 2006 directory

Your submission (which does not include the backing track) will then be mixed with the backing track by the rcc mix master, who will paste all the submissions together and loop the backing track under them to create the RCC mega mix! The mixmaster will do some level matching to your submission to ensure there are no sudden jumps in the megamix.

Your mix down should be the same length as the backing track, and be ready to paste at 1:0:0 - i.e. there should be no roll in or roll out.

Please name your track as ircnick.mp3 or wav, i.e. rad.mp3 or kobold.wav

RCC will end at midnight Eastern USA time on Saturday the 22nd of April - which means you have a few days to complete 1 minutes worth of music....so there should be no excuses!
Lets hope that a record number of people participate!

thanks
